Cabin 18 is an extra special vacation experience in the Rocky Mountains. This historic log cabin was built in 1898, in a quaint traditional style — step back in time with a waterfront cabin for five overlooking the beautiful Big Thompson River near Estes Park, Colorado.

Cabin 18 is an old-fashioned riverfront getaway for five with two private guest rooms and one full bath with a shower. Each bedroom is furnished with a full-sized bed, and there is room for one more to sleep on the full-length living room sofa.

As the first cabin built on the property that would one day become Loveland Heights, Cabin 18 sets the scene with a romantic, old-world vibe that fosters simplicity, quietude and relaxation. To this day it is still one of our most popular resort rentals!

The cabin’s open living space includes a modernized kitchen with appliances and dishware, a dining nook with a family-style table and seating for five, and a cozy sitting room with a sofa and television. Windows on all sides of Cabin 18 look out on the river or surrounding trees.

Unique Features

The deck at Cabin 18 was so beloved, every cabin added to this site has made a point to emulate it. This spacious, furnished deck has an unbeatable view, hanging out over the rushing water of the Big Thompson River. We have added chairs, a picnic table and a barbecue grill so you can make the most of your private and scenic outdoor living space.

Another unique feature at Cabin 18 is the wood stove in one of the guest bedrooms.

Things To Do

If you’re looking to get away in the great outdoors and enjoy the peace, quiet and fresh air of the mountains, Cabin 18 is the right place. At Loveland Heights Cottages, you can fish the river from shore, sunbathe on your own private deck, or stroll along our scenic River Walk.

Our river cottages are also just three miles outside of Estes Park, CO, — also known as the base of Rocky Mountain National Park. This natural hub of outdoor adventure activity offers access to horseback riding, hiking and biking, whitewater rafting and RV trails.

You can also watch the landscape cruise by from the comfort of the aerial tramway on your way up the side of Prospect Mountain.
